Blue Vespucci was the name I gave to the boat I designed for my major project at university. The design was formed from the ideological needs of a rich, famous, or important person. The idea of personal space and having every need catered for, creating the ultimate in conspicuous consumption.

The vessel had bars and dining areas, lounges, dance floors, a cinema and outdoors, a barbeque area as well as both shaded and sun-bed areas, and room to land a helicopter. Blue Vespucci is a mansion at sea. The moodboards shown here help define some of the concept.

I used Picture Publisher, Paint Shop Pro, Photoshop, Internet Explorer, and Flash in creating the image of Blue Vespucci. Wood, metal and plastic were the basis for the painted scale model I built.
